Here's What You Need to Know...
*All clients MUST read FAQ prior to their appointment and will be responsible for knowing appointment expectations.

Are appointments required?

  • Yes, all alterations require an appointment.

Can I call to get an estimate?

  • When you are with Pink Seams, we treat every gown and every bride uniquely their own! This is due to each dress being constructed completely different and each brides fit needs are specific to their own bodies combined with their gown!

  • If you are interested in learning more about your specific alterations estimate, we encourage booking a free consultation appointment with us. At this appointment, you will try your gown on with our lead seamstresses to discuss all of the fit needs and will have an estimate of the work associated to provide the perfect fit!

What is the difference between a consultation appointment and an alterations appointment?

  • The consultation is a 1 hour session free of charge in which you will try on your garment in the presence of our head seamstress and discuss potential alterations and receive a price estimate for the alterations discussed. Your gown WILL NOT be pinned during this appointment.

  • An alterations appointment is a 1 - 2 hour session in which you will wear your garment while one of our seamstresses pins and indicates the areas to be altered. After the garment is pinned, you will leave the garment where it will immediately go into production. Full payment is due at the end of the appointment. 

  • It is highly recommended that you book a free consultation if you have questions regarding the alterations your garment may need. 

When are appointments available?

  • We are open for appointments Tuesday - Saturday from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. 

  • If you are looking to book one of our services, we recommend booking with us in advance as appointments do tend to book out 2-3 weeks in advance during our busy season.

  • If you have any questions regarding appointment bookings, please give us a call and we will be happy to assist you.

Can Pink Seams clean my dress?

  • Pink Seams cannot clean any garments brought to us, however we can offer coupons for our cleaning partners, Trailside Dry Cleaning.

  • Pink Seams is not responsible for any type of cleaning during and/or post alterations. It is strongly advised that you get your garments dry cleaned after alterations.  

What should I bring for my appointment?

  • The shoes you are planning to wear for your event

  • The undergarments you will be wearing for your event

  • We will be taking measurements so we encourage you to be mindful of what you wear into your appointment so we can get the most accurate read of your perfect measurements. Attire to avoid is anything bulky (i.e. hoodies/sweatpants/oversized clothing)

  • Have a light snack and water before your appointment

 

What is the typical turnaround time?

  • Typical turnaround is approximately 4 weeks.

  • Special accommodations can be made for quicker turnaround times. Please call ahead to discuss with the seamstress.

How soon should I begin the alteration process for my garment?

  • We recommend that you begin the alterations process no later than 6-8 weeks before the wear date for your garment. 

  • Special accommodations can be made if a shortened timeline is needed. Please call ahead for more details. 

When is payment due?

  • Full payment is due at your first appointment. No exceptions.

  • If you are unable to pay in full the day of your first fitting, you will not be able to get pinned and will automatically be rescheduled.

  • If you change your shoes after the hem has been pinned, you will be charged a fee of $60 for coming back in to get re-pinned.

  • If you change your shoes after the hem has been altered and it needs to be re-hemmed, you will pay for the full hem price again to have it re-hemmed if requested.

  • If you change your undergarments after you have been pinned, you will be charged a fee of $60 for coming back in to get re-pinned. This is to ensure the fit based on the pinnings from the first fitting.

  • If you change your undergarments after we have altered your bodice, you will be charged for the alteration adjustments to compensate for the changes.

  • If your shoes and or undergarments have not changed but you are requesting to come back in to get re-pinned, you will be charged a re-pinning fee of $60.

  • Reversal of alterations is not always possible, however if it is desired, there will be a $60 appointment fee in addition to cost of any possible reversals.

  • We guarantee our work! Every single time! Our team is dedicated to providing you with your perfect fit which means we don't stop until it's truly the dress of your dreams! 

How do I pay for my alterations?

  • We accept card and cash. Venmo is no longer accepted.

 

What are Pink Seams’ business hours?

  • Tuesday - Saturday 10 am - 6 pm

  • Special accommodations can be made for our out of town brides, please directly call us to discuss! :)

 

How many people can I bring to my appointment?

  • Please bring no more than 2 additional people to your appointment. Our studio cannot accommodate large groups of guests.

 

Are children allowed at my appointment?

  • Due to liability concerns, children under the age of 12 are not permitted at appointments. 

 

What types of alterations are available?

  • Pink Seams can provide a full range of alterations for all-occasion needs. We accept all types of gowns, suits, and more. 

  • For specific concerns, please call ahead to discuss with the seamstress.

 

How many appointments will I have?

  • All alterations will require at least two appointments: a first fitting, and a second fitting to ensure that all alterations are made to your perfect fit.  

  • Only the seamstresses can determine when the garment is ready for a final fitting/pick-up appointment. 

  • Alterations is an art not a science.

 

How long are appointments?

  • Consultations are 60 minutes

  • Initial fittings are 90 minutes

  • Pickup appointments are 60 minutes

 

Rescheduling and Late Policy:

  • Rescheduling of appointments must be done at least 24 hours before your appointment time.

  • If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, you will be required to reschedule. No exceptions.
